SULTAN – Police on Friday arrested three male students who had left a note on a wall in the boys’ bathroom at Sultan Middle School reportedly threatening violence against white people, said Police Chief Fred Walser.
The boys were bragging about the incident, which caused someone to give the police a tip, Walser said.
“It’s pretty hard for the boys to keep the secret,” he said.
The three didn’t know the seriousness of their act, Walser said. School officials found the note on Thursday. Even though classes were on a normal schedule on Friday, 271 students stayed at home. The school has 593 students.
The three students were released to their parents, Walser said. Officials are referring the case to a Snohomish County juvenile prosecutor.
There was a similar violence threat found Friday morning on the bathroom wall at Sultan High School, Walser said. Officers haven’t found any suspects.
