The rush was on Sunday morning for Safeco Field tickets to the American League Championship Series between the Seattle Mariners and the New York Yankees.
Jenn Skinner was 12th in line at the new Mariners store at Alderwood Mall and bought her tickets after waiting 18 hours. She celebrated with Sandy Dennison, who was 11th in line.
Meanwhile, Justin Lux and Andy Mitchell, both 13, and Justin’s father, Dave Lux of Lynnwood, pulled an all-nighter at the mall and were somewhere around 100 in line after setting up camp about 10 p.m. Saturday.
Thousands lined up at Safeco Field and other outlets, and Mariners officials said the 19,000 available tickets for Games 3 and 4, at $40, $50 and $70, sold out in about 90 minutes.
The series starts Tuesday in New York, after the Yankees beat the Oakland A’s 7-5 to win their five-game playoff.
The ALCS returns to Seattle on Friday. See Sports, Page 1D.
