STANWOOD — A hazardous material crew was examining a five-gallon bucket that fell off a work truck on to northbound I-5 today.
The bucket is labeled “corrosive” and it was not immediately clear what was inside, Washington State Patrol trooper Kirk Rudeen said.
One lane of the freeway was closed. Emergency crews were working on the shoulder of the freeway and drivers were being advised to use caution when traveling through the area, near 236th Street NE.
The bucket reportedly fell off a work truck. A state transportation worker located the bucket and called for firefighters when it was discovered that the bucket might contain a hazardous material.
