3 seriously injured in accident blocking Highway 522

MONROE — Three adults suffered serious injuries this morning in an accident on Highway 522, with at least one person airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, Monroe police spokeswoman Debbie Willis said.

Both lanes remained blocked on the two-lane highway at 10:45 a.m., Willis said.

Police were contacted at about 6:30 this morning about the accident between U.S. 2 and Main Street involving two Toyota sports utility vehicles, Willis said.

Detours may remain in place until at least noon as police continue to investigate, Willis said.
