Ann and Leon Rivers are the August volunteers of the month at Camano Senior and Community Center. They serve at the center’s Second Chance Thrift Store several days a week, and Leon Rivers is on the thrift store committee.
The couple retired to Camano Island in 1992 and began volunteering in 1995. He served 30 years as a teacher and principal, working overseas with the Defense Department.
