Cameron Coe, Marysville Getchell High School Valedictorian
Everyone in this building can agree that reaching this point in our lives was a challenge. Not everyone graduates high school. Those of us who are here now faced lots of challenges and problems, and overcame them. But not by ourselves. See all of us had support of some kind to help us through it all. Maybe it was a teacher who guided you, a parent or guardian who listened to you and encouraged you, a friend who challenged you to be better, and who was always catch you if you fell; or maybe a coach, a mentor, a role model, anyone who supported you through the last four years. Without them, we wouldn’t have gotten here, to this day.
We will carry these people with us into our uncertain futures, we are not done needing other people’s support, and we never will be done needing support. Even now, you have the people who care about you, and supported you, in this building right now, supporting you through this ceremony. These people, and the new people we will meet are vital to our success in the future, even when we don’t think we need them anymore, because we all need a little help every now and then. To everyone who supported all of us through the last four years, we would like to say from the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
