NEW YORK — British Prime Minister David Cameron has arrived in New York for his first visit since taking office.
Cameron arrived in New York by train after a visit to Washington, D.C., where he met with President Barack Obama and Pentagon officials. Cameron took office 10 weeks ago.
Mayor Michael Bloomberg met him at a street corner, and the two grabbed a quick hot dog lunch. They ignored questions while they ate.
In New York City, Cameron is scheduled to meet with U.S. business leaders about trade and investment prospects and is to hold talks with U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.
Bloomberg said earlier today he had no plans to join others who have called for a fresh investigation into whether oil giant BP swayed Scotland’s decision to release the Lockerbie bomber.
