SNOHOMISH — The ninth annual Washington Student Forum — a night when political candidates and elected officials are seen but not heard — will be 5-8 p.m. Sunday at Snohomish High School, 1316 Fifth St.
The forum is designed for students to tell officeholders and those hoping to be elected how they feel about issues.
Traditionally, high school students from several schools attend. Each student has 90 seconds to advocate a cause, but they can’t condemn or endorse a person or political party.
They will get to address candidates for county offices, city councils and school boards. Organizing and hosting the forum are students from Cascade, Archbishop Thomas J. Murphy and Snohomish high schools.

Man killed in car crash: One man was killed and another was hospitalized early Saturday when the car they were traveling in crashed and exploded into flames, the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office reported.
The crash occurred about 3 a.m. at Arlington Heights Road a quarter-mile east of Jordan Road. An 18-year-old man who died at the scene was trapped inside the burning vehicle, which set off a brush fire, said sheriff’s spokeswoman Jan Jorgensen.
The other man, also 18, was taken to Cascade Valley Hospital, where his condition wasn’t known Saturday night.
The sheriff’s collision investigation unit will be looking into what caused the accident, Jorgensen said.
