EVERETT — Crews have stabilized a tugboat that capsized along the Everett waterfront this weekend and a dry dock that partially sunk.
The boat remained on its side Monday, but it was sealed to prevent any fuel leaks, according to the U.S. Coast Guard. The boat also was surrounded by three containment booms.
The next step is figuring out a safe way to get the tug boat upright, according to the Department of Ecology.
The department was working with the Coast Guard and the boat’s owner, Vigor Industrial.
The 140-boat tugboat contains up to 60,000 gallons of diesel, officials said. They believe it capsized as a result of the dry dock sinking.
