EVERETT — A driver apparently fell asleep at the wheel and plowed his car into an apartment building in south Everett on Sunday morning.
The driver, identified only as an adult male in a BMW sedan, was heading northbound on Fourth Avenue W when he left the roadway and crashed into the lower level of the Brentwood Park Apartments, Everett Police Officer Aaron Snell said.
The car went almost completely inside the building at 10012 Fourth Ave. W, Snell said.
Amazingly, there were no injuries.
The driver remained at the scene, and an investigation of the crash is ongoing, Snell said. The vehicle was towed away and impounded.
“It does not appear that alcohol or drugs were involved,” Snell said.
The building sustained structural damage and the American Red Cross responded to provide emergency housing and assistance.
Two households with a total of eight people were affected, Red Cross spokeswoman Jacqueline Koch said.
