Area teens to gather for a day of service
On Saturday, Oct. 20, more than 400 teenagers will be serving those in need in the community.
Along with adult volunteers, these teens will perform a variety of service projects to help the elderly, disabled and homeless, as well as cleaning local schools and parks.
Through an event called CityServe, a ministry of Youth for Christ of Snohomish County, hundreds of teens from local churches have been matched with local social service agencies to meet the most urgent needs of those in our community. “Our goal is to show God’s love to the most needy in our community by working together and meeting tangible needs,” said Shari Muchmore, a Youth for Christ coordinator.
Youth for Christ hopes that this event will become a catalyst for everyone to get more involved in our community, said Brian Muchmore, Youth for Christ’s executive director.
“This event not only helps young people develop a lifestyle of ‘giving back,’ but it also makes everyone more aware of the needs around,” he said. “We will continue to serve those in need year-round.”
