Firefighters solicit auction donations
Firefighters at Snohomish County Fire District 1 are selling tickets and seeking donations for their Holiday Harvest Auction to benefit the Fire 1 Foundation.
The foundation, a nonprofit organization founded by fire district employees, supports fire department activities and the communities served by the district.

Clothes for Kids opens in Lynnwood
Clothes for Kids, which provides free clothing and school supplies to low-income children, is open for the school year at 16725 52nd Ave. W., Suite B, Lynnwood. Children’s clothing closet needs help
The kids’ clothing closet, a partnership between Compass Health and KidsDream of Snohomish County, needs donations.
The Closet serves primarily foster children from newborn to age 18. Basic clothing items, such as new socks, underwear, pants, shirts, coats and shoes, as well as school supplies, are needed.
To make a donation, volunteer to help at the closet or for information, call 425-356-9679. Donations may be dropped off at Building 8 of the Everett Compass Health Campus, 4526 Federal Ave., behind Forest Park.
Museum program needs ghost stories
The Edmonds Museum is looking for residents who have experienced a ghostly event in either a historic commercial property or private dwelling.
From the stories submitted, one or two will be selected to have an official ghost investigation performed by ghost hunter Shannon Stidman, who will report her findings, along with other events encountered in her profession, at the Edmonds Historical Society’s annual dinner Oct. 20.
Mail your name, address, phone number and a description of your close encounter of the ghostly kind to the Edmonds Museum, 118 Fifth Ave. N., Edmonds, WA 98020. All stories submitted will be available for viewing at the museum. All members of the society are invited to attend the dinner. Edmonds exhibits women’s history
“A Woman’s Place in History” opens Saturday at the Edmonds Museum.
The new exhibit illustrates women’s history in Snohomish County and Washington state and highlights the accomplishments of women and the resulting social changes. An illustrated timeline of the century following Snohomish County’s founding provides an historical context for viewing the changes women experienced during that era. Museum hours are 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. The museum is located at 118 Fifth Ave. N., Edmonds. A $3 donation is suggested.
