TACOMA — The widow of radio legend Casey Kasem is suing a hospital for the medical records of the last weeks of his life.
The News Tribune reported the lawsuit filed for Jeannie Kasem earlier this month in Pierce County Superior Court seeks medical charts and records of medications and people who visited him.
Kasem died June 15 at the age of 82 at St. Anthony Hospital in Gig Harbor.
Jeannie Kasem’s lawyer, Lance Hester, says a daughter from a previous marriage, Kerri Kasem, had taken control her father’s health care at that time.
Hospital spokeswoman Mary Getchell says privacy law prevents her from talking about a specific case, but in general the hospital could turn over records to authorized family members. A hearing is set for April in Tacoma.
