BELLFLOWER, Calif. — A spokeswoman for the Southern California woman who delivered octuplets says the young mother wasn’t motivated by financial gain.
Spokeswoman Joann Killeen told NBC’s “Today” show today that financial gain “was not her intention” and that her client “always wanted to be a mom.”
Nadya Suleman, a 33-year-old single mother, already had six children, ages 2 to 7, when she gave birth to octuplets on Jan. 26. All were the product of in vitro fertilization.
Killeen says both Suleman and her newborns are doing well and it is up to doctors when she can be discharged.
A Suleman spokesman earlier said she has had offers for TV and other media deals, but it was too early to discuss how much money she might receive.
