EVERETT – Police are searching for a man who stole a catering van Thursday after holding its driver at gunpoint.
An employee of Valdos catering of Marysville was making a delivery in the 3100 block of Cedar Street when the suspect, armed with a handgun, demanded the employee’s wallet about 1 p.m., Everett police Sgt. Boyd Bryant said.
The robber then took the man’s catering truck and headed south, Bryant said. The employee wasn’t hurt.
The truck, Washington license plate A85676A, has the Valdos catering company’s name on the side, Bryant said. Anyone who sees it is asked to call police.
“This is definitely a unique robbery,” Bryant said. “It’s not every day we see a catering truck stolen.”
