Ceiling collapses at Mountlake Terrace City Hall

MOUNTLAKE TERRACE – City Hall was closed today after the ceiling of the City Council chamber collapsed Tuesday night. No one was injured in the incident.

The ceiling had been added some years ago to cover exposed asbestos.

City officials don’t know when the building can reopen, while crews clean up the site and conduct tests. The council meetings scheduled for Thursday and Monday are set to take place next door at the Mountlake Terrace Library.
