ANNIVERSARIES

Saxon

Tom and Trish Saxon of Edmonds celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Nov. 10 with a surprise party held at their daughter’s home in Shoreline. The party was hosted by their daughter Michelle and their son Mark.

The couple were married Nov. 1, 1957, in Santa Monica, Calif.

Tom and Trish met in Seattle and were introduced by a mutual friend. They lived in Manhattan Beach, Calif., while Tom attended El Camino College. They moved to Snohomish County in 1958 and Tom attended the University of Washington. Tom has been a New York Life agent for 44 years.

His is also past chairman of the South Snohomish County Chamber of Commerce, past president of the Lynnwood Rotary Club and the Seattle Chapter of the Society of Financial Services Professionals. He was also a Snohomish County freeholder.

Tom and Trish have two children and three grandchildren.

To complete their celebration Tom and Trish took a 14-day Mediterranean cruise.

Bendixsen

Paris and Kathy Bendixsen of Bothell will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary with a family dinner later in the month.

The couple were married Jan. 12, 1968, at the Good Shephard Baptist Church in Lynnwood.

Paris and Kathy’s families were next door neighbors in Lynn­wood. They have lived in Lynnwood and Bothell for 40 years. Both retired from GTE.

The couple have one child and one deceased, and two grandchildren.

Roth

Stanley and Roselan Roth of Snohomish recently celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary.

The couple were married Jan. 7, 1956, at St. Rose of Lima in Wellington, Kan.

Stanley and Roselan would like nothing other than well wishes from their friends.

They have four children, 17 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

100th BIRTHDAY

Zella Irene Nilson

Zella Irene Nilson of Snoho­mish celebrated her 100th birthday on Jan. 6.

She was born Zella Irene Jacobson on Jan. 6, 1908, in Forrest, Idaho.

Zella grew up in Weippe, Idaho, with her sisters and a brother.

She married Oscar Nilson and the couple lived in Walla Walla, Spokane and Kellogg, Idaho.

They had two children before the family moved to Yakima, Everett and then Snohomish in 1957. Zella still lives in her Snohomish home.

Oscar died in 1969 after 32 years of marriage.

Zella has been a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church since 1957. She has taught Sunday school, and has made hundreds of quilts and baby sweaters for church missionary projects. She also volunteered for many years teaching ceramics at Bethany, and has been a Blue Bird and Camp Fire girl leader.

Zella worked for several years at the Washington State Reformatory.

At 100 years old, Zella enjoys visits with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, her sister Frances and many other relatives and friends.

She attributes her long life faith, family and friends who have all kept her active and healthy.

ENGAGEMENTS

DiPaola and Arnold

Helen M. DiPaola and Gerald R. Arnold, both of Mukilteo, plan a May 24 wedding in Mountlake Terrace.

Helen works at Providence Medical Center. Jerry works at Boeing.

The couple is happy to announce their engagement after being together for six years.

Blanck and Love

Dana Jaunie Blanck and Greg Allen Love, both of Camano Island, plan a Feb. 9 wedding.

Their parents are Jon Blanck of Blaine and Betty Adams of Marysville, and Steve Love of Camano Island and Debra Gomes of Silver Lake.

Dana is a hair stylist in Mill Creek. Greg is a real estate agent with Windermere in Stanwood.
