ELLENSBURG — Students at Central Washington University in Ellensburg are planning to walk out of classes today to protest likely tuition increases.
State lawmakers, facing a major budget deficit, approved tuition increases of up to 14 percent for each of the next two years at the state’s four-year public universities. That’s twice the 7 percent increase universities had been capped at the past few years.
Central students plan to walk out of their noon classes today in protest, followed by a rally and march to Barge Hall.
