ARLINGTON – Firefighters were unable to save a 118-year-old home as flames engulfed it early this morning.
Crews were called around 1:45 a.m. to the 8900 block of Tveit Loop Road, Arlington Fire spokeswoman Chris Badger said.
The two-story home was fully involved and crews had to carry equipment around a locked gate to battle the blaze, she said.
It took about 30 minutes to put the fire out. No one was hurt, Badger said. The home was destroyed.
The home appeared to be abandoned and neighbors told firefighters it was unoccupied.
Snohomish County sheriff’s deputies used a dog trained to find cadavers to search the home and verified that no one was home.
Arlington city officials are trying to locate the property owner.
The Snohomish County Fire Marhsal’s office is investigating what sparked the blaze.
