WENATCHEE — The Chelan County sheriff’s office has suspended the search for a 79-year-old mushroom hunter who has been missing more than a week about 10 miles north of Lake Wenatchee.
KPQ reported that nearly 90 people searched without success Sunday, including eight dog teams and volunteers from a mushroom-hunting group.
Hildegard Hendrickson of Seattle failed to return June 8 from a day trip but wasn’t reported missing until Tuesday when her car was noticed at a trailhead.
Hendrickson is a retired Seattle University faculty member and mushroom expert.
