WENATCHEE — Voters in Chelan and Douglas counties have overwhelmingly approved a sales tax increase to bail out Wenatchee’s Town Toyota Center arena.
KPQ radio reported the combined yes vote was 63 percent as of Tuesday’s ballot count.
Voters have authorized the arena’s Public Facilities District to impose .1-percent regional sales tax increase.
The election was authorized by the state Legislature after the arena went into default.
