MOUNTLAKE TERRACE — A 6-year-old girl was taken to a hospital after being rescued from Lake Ballinger in Mountlake Terrace on Sunday, according to fire officials.
South County Fire crews were called to a boat launch at the lake at about 3:35 p.m., said Leslie Hynes, a spokesperson for the agency.
Bystanders pulled the girl from the water and began doing CPR, Hynes said.
Mountlake Terrace police also arrived and administered CPR.
The girl was unconscious when she was transported to the hospital, said Hynes.
Hynes did not know her current condition. The spokeswoman was also unsure if the girl was wearing a life jacket.
Her family was nearby when she was pulled from the water, Hynes said.
