Back-to-School Give Away: The Caring Place will give away free backpacks, school supplies and gently used clothing to needy families by appointment throughout August. Dental care: Free urgent dental care for adults without dental insurance will be offered 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Sept. 21 at Gold Creek Community Church, 4326 148th St. SE in Mill Creek. Stand in line the day of event, or reserve one of the limited appointment times by calling 425-312-5595. One dental service per person. Patients with the most urgent needs will be served first. Free breakfast and lunch also will be served.

Meals in Everett: Gold Creek Community Church provides a free hot meal and sack lunches, 5-6 p.m. the first, third and fifth Sunday of the month in the parking lot of Central Lutheran Church, 2702 Rockefeller Ave. Clothes available some days. Qualified persons can sign up for free urgent dental care from a dental van that comes monthly. Ask Jessica for details and how to sign up.

Salt of the Earth soup kitchen: Noon Tuesdays at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2531 Hoyt Ave., Everett. Free sack lunches or hot meals served to the homeless, low-income seniors and families, and kids on the street. Volunteers needed to help cook, set up, serve and clean up.
