DARRINGTON – Classes for about 525 students were canceled again today after additional threats were made to students.
Students were sent home around noon Monday after more than two dozen teachers and administrators received an e-mail threat. The elementary school was evacuated around 8:30 a.m. The middle and high schools were also evacuated.
Parents and students were notified this morning before classes started that additional threats had been made toward students and seem to be connected to Monday’s threats, according to district spokeswoman Trudy LaDouceur.
“Until we assess the situation with law enforcement we needed to cancel school,” she said.
The district and Snohomish County Sheriff’s deputies are expected to meet later this morning.
A police dog searched the schools twice Monday and did not locate a bomb, according to sheriff’s spokeswoman Jan Jorgensen. Detectives with the computer forensics unit were investigating the e-mail threats.
