INDEX — A rock-climber was injured after falling about 30 feet at Index Town Wall on Saturday morning.
Authorities were called around 10:20 a.m. after the man slipped and fell while still attached to his climbing rope, said Lt. Brandon Vargas from Snohomish County Fire District 26. Crews from the fire district and the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office immobilized the man near the site of the accident so he could be flown by helicopter to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.
The climber was believed to be in his 30s, Vargas said. The extent of his injuries was not immediately known.
