HOQUIAM — The Coast Guard says some light oil in the Hoquiam River was apparently released by demolition of the Harbor Paper Mill in Hoquiam.
The demolition work was halted Monday after the pollution was reported.
A contractor, Cowlitz Clean Sweep, was hired to contain the oil with booms and berms and clean it up with absorbent materials and vacuum trucks.
The Coast Guard says it’s monitoring the clean-up work.
