SMOKEY POINT – Two people were injured Saturday evening when the driver of a car crossed the median on I-5 near Smokey Point and collided with another car, according to the State Patrol.
Word on their condition was not available Sunday.
About 7:05 p.m. Saturday, a Volkswagen Jetta driven south by Bala Ruchi, 20, of Marysville crossed the median and hit a Chevy pickup driven by Matthew Wilkeson-Miller, 21, of Arlington. Wilkeson-Miller and his passenger, Elizabeth Clayton, 21, of Lake Stevens, were injured and taken to Cascade Hospital in Arlington, according to the State Patrol.
Ruchi was not injured.
Two lanes of northbound I-5 were blocked for about 40 minutes after the accident, the State Patrol said.
Alcohol was not a factor in the accident, the State Patrol said.
