Legion seeking walkers, pledges
American Legion Post 76 invites the public to a walk-a-thon to raise money for the Children’s Miracle Network, which is affiliated with Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center in Seattle.
The five-mile walk begins at 8 a.m. May 22 at Post Middle School, 1005 E. Fifth St., and will stay within the city limits.
Money is raised by pledges solicited by walkers. Pledge sheets are available at businesses including Action Sports, Arlington Pharmacy, Rite-Aid at Smokey Point and the Stillaguamish Athletic Club.

City publicity
volunteers sought
The city seeks new members for its "press packet team," a group of volunteers who clip Bothell-related newspaper articles and create a press packet for the City Council and staff.
The team meets 9 a.m.-noon Thursdays at Bothell City Hall. Volunteers will receive any needed on-the-job training.
Applicants should be able to communicate clearly and effectively, and work independently with minimal supervision. All applicants are subject to a criminal background check.

Mother’s Day
brings plant sale
Just in time for Mother’s Day, the United Generation Choir, Westgate Chapel’s youth choir, will have its fifth annual spring plant sale 9-7 p.m. May 6-8 in the Westgate Chapel parking lot, 22901 Edmonds Way.
This event will raise money for the youth choir’s ministry trip to the United Kingdom early this summer. Hundreds of hanging baskets, annuals, perennials and foundation plants will be available. For further information, call 425-775-2776.

Make your garden friendly to wildlife
Volunteers with the Community Wildlife Habitat Project will answer questions about how to make gardens and backyards more friendly to wildlife 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday at Camano Plaza Market, 370 N. East Camano Drive.
The program is part of the National Wildlife Federation’s push to improve animal habitats where people live. Locally, Friends of Camano Island Parks is a major sponsor.
Volunteers are trying to get 10 percent of Camano Island certified for the program. Certification means meeting four basic criteria: providing food, water, shelter and a place for wildlife to raise their young.

Rosehill Revue
will be Saturday
The annual Rosehill Revue will be 7 p.m. Saturday at the Rosehill Community Center, 304 Lincoln Ave., Old Town Mukilteo. The event marks the 20th anniversary of the founding of the Gene Nastri Community School of the Arts.
Musicians appearing in the event include the Fred Taylor Quartet; the Mukilteo Brass Quintet, made up of school faculty; violinist Karen Halliburton; and the Mukilteo Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Jeff Freed.
Vocalists coached and directed by Revue soloist and musical director Marita Ericksen include sopranos Connor Garside, Kyle Bolme and Amanda Baldwin; the Rosehill Singers; and the Mukilteo Youth Chorus. Accompanist for the show will be Randy Bruce on piano.
Comedy and drama are being supplied by PlayCafe, a traveling program of the Driftwood Players.
The high-kicking Rosebud Rockettes will dance at the event. Other dancers include the ballroom dancers from Oly’s at the Dorothy Jayne Studio; the Step-Sisters, an intergenerational tap-dance troupe; and the Jazzercise Dancers.
Leading the evening as master of ceremonies will be Mukilteo City Councilman Tony Tinsley.
Tickets $10 adults, $7 seniors and students, and $5 children 5 and under. Tickets may be purchased at the door starting at 6 p.m., or in advance from the Wishing Stone, 407 Lincoln Ave.; Mukilteo Booksellers, 619 Fourth St.; or the Point Elliott Art Center, 724 First St. Proceeds benefit the Gene Nastri Community School of the Arts, a nonprofit organization.
