Rotary makes festive haul for food bank
In the days just before Thanksgiving, more than 20 members of the Stanwood Camano Rotary Club took their annual post outside Haggen Food and Pharmacy to seek community support for the food bank. In all, more than 1,280 pounds of food and $1,293.57 in cash donations were collected. In addition, the club also provided a significant number of winter coats to the food bank in partnership with Operation Warm with funds raised by the club.

More than 11K shoeboxes for Christmas
Volunteers throughout Snohomish County packed empty shoeboxes with small items like toys, school supplies and hygiene items for Operation Christmas Child, a project of Samaritan’s Purse that sends gifts to children living in difficult situations around the world.
Snohomish County churches and individual volunteers together collected more than 11,900 shoebox gifts this year, the nonprofit reported. That’s a record over last year’s area collection of 10,589 gifts.
