Lions Club takes on park for ‘Legacy’
Volunteers from the Arlington Lions Club recently painted the restroom facility at Terrace Park with new trim and wall color to match other city Parks facilities.
Matching paint colors is aimed at simplifying touch-ups when vandalism occurs. The Lions Club took on the project as part of the “Adopt a Park” program.
The playground at Terrace Park also is getting an update, thanks in part to the club. The Lions Club partially funded the new play equipment as part of a “Legacy Project” to celebrate the Lions’ 100th anniversary.
“Even though our involvement with the Park is ongoing, the new equipment will be a special addition this year,” said Donna Knight, treasurer for the Arlington Lions Club.
The city also received a grant from Snohomish County to replace dilapidated wood playground borders with poured concrete curbing later this summer.
