Giving
Sky Valley provides food, gifts
Generous community donations to the Sky Valley Food Bank “Hope for the Holidays” program helped provide 747 children Christmas gifts.
With the organization and guidance of volunteers Kristie Higgins and Sarah Johansen, the “toy room” elves sorted and filled shelves with age-appropriate toys and games that were then distributed in the days before Christmas. Diane Wilton filled stockings for a festive touch.
Sky Valley Food Bank distributed holiday meals to 475 families.
The efforts also were made possible by many businesses, schools and individuals who held food drives or toy drives, said food bank director Neil Watkins.
