Run: First FlyDay 5K Run/walk

The public is invited to attend the International Association of Fire Fighters Local 2597 FlyDay 5K on Saturday

Register online at www.painefield.com/FlyDay5k.html. A firefighter pancake breakfast, which is included in the cost, will follow the run.

Donate: Take coins to Clothes for Kids

Clothes for Kids has expanded its popular Coins for Kids program and is asking local residents to bring their piggy banks and other coins to the Clothes for Kids office, 16725 52nd Ave. W., Suite B, Lynnwood. Donations are accepted 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays in May.

Coins for Kids is active in local schools and will expand to the community.

Volunteer: Tell tourists where to go

The Visitor Information Centers of the Snohomish County Tourism Bureau seek volunteer travel counselors to assist visitors with activities, restaurants, lodging and more.

Centers are located in the Smokey Point area, in the Comcast Arena in Everett, at Heritage Park in Lynnwood and in historic downtown Snohomish.

Volunteer: Help others get a taste

Volunteers are needed between 10 a.m. and 11 p.m. June 26 at The Taste of Decadence, Smokey Point Community Church Auditorium, 17721 Smokey Point Blvd, Arlington.

Jobs include decorating, silent auction runner, registration, dessert runners, busing, dishwashing and clean up. Volunteers shifts are flexible and will be assigned based on the volunteer’s interest and availability.

Serve: Agency has board vacancies

Village Community Services is recruiting volunteers for its board of directors. The nonprofit agency is looking for volunteers who passionately believe in the rights, talents and potential of people with disabilities, and want to work toward their inclusion in the work force and community. The board meets at 6:30 p.m. on the last Tuesday of the month.

Celebrate: Zonta Club celebrates 80th

Zonta Club of Everett, chartered in 1929 to promote the status of women worldwide, turns 80 with a dinner and birthday celebration.

All former and current members — and those interested in joining — are invited to attend the birthday celebration at 5:30 p.m. May 28 at the Everett Golf and Country Club, 1500 52nd St. SE, Everett. Cost for the salmon dinner is $39, and deadline for reservations is Monday. Call 425-348-3501.

The Zonta Club of Everett is a service organization that seeks to improve the status of women locally and globally. The club meets at 7:30 a.m. on the first Thursday of each month and at noon the third Thursday of each month at the Everett Golf and Country Club.
