Get help: IRS offers an open house
The Internal Revenue Service will host a nationwide open house event to provide help to individual taxpayers dealing with notices and payments, return preparation and a variety of other tax issues.
The Everett Tax Assistance Center at 3020 Rucker Ave. will be open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday as part of the event. IRS staff will be available on site or by telephone to help taxpayers.

Learn: Internet safety class
A free Internet Safety class will be held at Compass Health from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday in Everett.
The training is open to community members and provides two hours of approved foster parent training.
The class will be at Compass Health at 4526 Federal Ave. in Everett. Dinner will be provided.

Help: Kids’ Kloset garage sale
Arlington Kids’ Kloset has scheduled a garage sale at 9 a.m. on Saturday to raise money for new socks, underwear and shoes for children of low-income families.
The sale will be at 135 S. French St. in Arlington. Kids’ Kloset provides free clothing twice yearly to students in need in the Arlington, Lakewood, and Darrington school districts.

Enter: Teen summer reading
The Teen Summer Reading Program runs through Aug. 27 at the Mill Creek Library.
Teenagers ages 12 to 18 can submit online reviews of their summer reads for a chance to win a $10 gift card to a local business. Each review is entered in a drawing to be held every Friday beginning June 25 through Aug. 27.
The end of summer grand prize is a brand new Apple iPod Nano MP3 player. Teens must submit five or more reviews to be entered in the grand prize drawing.
Prizes are funded by the Friends of the Mill Creek Library. Entry forms can be found on the Sno-Isle teen webpage, www.sno-isle.org/cr/teensummerreading/.

Apply: Sultan Library Board
The Sultan Library is looking for residents who are interested in serving on the Sultan Library Board.
The Library Board serves in an advisory capacity to the City Council and acts as a liaison between the City Council and Sno-Isle Libraries.

Eat: Senior Center Mexican dinner
The East County Senior Center hosts a monthly Mexican dinner on the third Thursday of every month.
The cost of the dinner is $5 for adults and $2 for children under 12. The next dinner will be on June 17.
After expenses, all proceeds are used for the general operating funds of the center at 276 Sky River Parkway in Monroe.
