Rally: Motorcycle ride benefits kids shelter
Safe Place Rally for Kids, a fundraiser motorcycle ride and lunch, will be Aug. 3. All proceeds benefit Safe Place, a temporary shelter for foster children in Everett. Cars also are welcome.
Riders will start leaving at 7:45 a.m. from Everett Power Sports, 215 SW Everett Mall Way, and end at Cascade High School, 801 E. Casino Road.
A fundraiser lunch will be served from noon to 2 p.m. at the high school and includes chili, hot dogs, chips and pop. The Northwest Wings Motorcycle Drill Team also holds an exhibition at 2:30 p.m.
Registration, which includes the ride and exhibition, is $15 the day of the event starting at 7:30 a.m., or $12 in advance by check to Safe Place For Kids, Rally for Kids, 1620 46th St. SE, Everett, WA 98203. T-shirts are $15.

Serve: Treasurer sought for Lake Stevens group
The Lake Stevens Education Foundation seeks a volunteer to serve on the board as treasurer. The foundation board meets at 6:30 p.m. the third Tuesday of the month at the Lake Stevens School District’s Educational Service Center.

Enjoy: Gold Bar’s Gold Dust Days expands
Gold Dust Days will be July 26-28 in Gold Bar with live music, food vendors, art and crafts vendors, a car show, a period melodrama, Civil War re-enactors and kids activities.
New this year is an expanded gold-panning display and free hay rides. The car show will be expanded, and the Miss Gold Dust Days pageant is back.
The bulk of the action takes place at or near Gold Bar Elementary School, 401 Lewis Ave.

See: Tour de Terrace welcomes Bonaduce
Tour de Terrace in Mountlake Terrace runs July 26-28. The Seafair-sanctioned event includes a parade at 6:45 p.m. July 26 featuring the Seattle Police Motorcycle Drill Team and Grand Marshal Danny Bonaduce of “Partridge Family” and radio fame.
The parade travels along 56th Avenue W. from 234th Street north to Evergreen Playfield.
The festival runs noon to 11 p.m. July 26, 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. July 27 and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. July 28 and features live entertainment, a beer garden, food booths, pancake breakfast, street fair and carnival. A car show runs 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 27, with a fireworks show that same night around 10.

Spot: Audubon offers summer bird walks
The Pilchuck Audubon Society holds summer bird walks. The next outing is set for Aug. 4 at the 160-acre Corson Natural Area just north of Lake Stevens.
The state wildlife area typically is closed to the public except for these organized birding excursions. Explore two to four miles of the preserve, which features ponds, fields, marshes and a large collection of exotic birds. Bring water, hat, sunscreen, hiking boots and a lunch.
Meet at 8 a.m. in the northwest corner of the parking lot across Smith Avenue from the Everett Station building, 3201 Smith Ave., to carpool.
The final summer birding event is set for Aug. 18 at Langus Riverfront Trail in Everett.
