Kids’ Kloset is collecting school supplies

Arlington Kids’ Kloset is collecting school supplies for children in the Arlington, Lakewood and Darrington school districts who need help with back-to-school clothes and classroom supplies.

Last school year, Kids’ Kloset distributed nearly 500 new backpacks filled with supplies. The current drive runs through Sept. 15.

Collection sites are located at: Arlington Pharmacy, 540 West Ave.; Frontier Bank of Arlington, 525 N. Olympic Ave.; and Julie’s Barber and Styling Salon, 413 North Olympic Ave. Donations also are being accepted at Kids’ Kloset, 135 S. French St., Arlington.

Items needed include notebook filler paper, pencils and pens, glue and glue sticks, rulers, erasers, scissors, dividers, colored pencils, markers and binders.

Costco at Lakewood Crossing donated 500 new backpacks to the effort.

Donate school supplies at clinic

Marysville Chiropractic is running a back-to-school supply drive. Donations will be given to the Marysville Community Food Bank for distribution to children from low-income families.

School supplies can be dropped off at 1617 Grove St., Marysville. For more information, call 360-659-6241.

A shoe drive for Clothes for Kids continues through Sept. 8 at the Maytag store, 3105 Alderwood Mall Blvd., Lynnwood.

Donations of new shoes help meet the clothing needs of children from low-income families.

Artists wanted at Snohomish gallery

Arts of Snohomish, a nonprofit gallery in Snohomish, is seeking artist members.

The gallery shows the works of emerging as well as established artists.

Apply to exhibit at Lynnwood Library

The Lynnwood Arts Commission is seeking artists to apply for 2008 exhibits at the Lynnwood Library Gallery.

The gallery features monthly exhibits beginning in January and continuing through December 2008. The application deadline is Sept. 28.

The Lynnwood Library is at 19200 44th Ave. W.

Foundation moves its office in Everett

The offices of the Greater Everett Community Foundation have moved to 3202 Colby Ave., Everett.

United Way to honor volunteers

United Way’s 11th annual Spirit of Snohomish County Breakfast, set for 7:30 a.m. Sept. 12 at the Lynnwood Convention Center, will recognize five outstanding volunteers.

The deadline to register for the breakfast is Tuesday.

The Spirit of Snohomish County Breakfast is open to the public; however, seating is limited and advance reservations are required. Cost is $25.
