Evergreen REACT, a nonprofit organization that uses radio communications to assist the public, logged more than 874 hours in 2005.
REACT, which stands for Radio Emergency Associated Communications Teams, is seeking new members. It meets at 7 p.m. the last Sunday of each month at Fire District 1 headquarters.

Helpers needed for parks
Join the Snohomish County Parks and Recreation Department for some spring cleaning from 9 a.m. to noon Friday and March 31.
This Friday, you can help with cleaning plant beds, removing blackberries and picking up litter at McCollum Park, 600 128th St. SE, Everett.
On March 31, you can help build a trail at one of Snohomish County’s newest parks, Willis D. Tucker Community Park, 6705 Puget Park Drive, Snohomish. Bring a shovel, rake, loppers and bow saw, and dress appropriately for the weather.

Catholic Community Services is looking for volunteers to drive clients to and from doctors’ appointments and other essential errands.
Clients can get in and out of the car on their own.
Drive every day, or schedule to fit your free time. The group will provide mileage reimbursement and classes on CPR and defensive driving.
You must be 21 or older and have insurance, a valid driver’s license and a vehicle that runs safely.

Snohomish seniors seek craft vendors
The Snohomish Senior Center is looking for craft vendors for a fundraising bazaar May 5 and 6.
The center is seeking jewelers, potters, woodworkers, glass artists, weavers and card makers, among others. Fourteen booths are available for a flat fee of $20.
Center activities are temporarily located at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 1514 Pine Ave. Call the senior center at 360-568-0934.
Help a soldier phone home
Liberty Tax Service at 1349 State Ave. in Marysville is a drop-off point for Cell Phones for Soldiers, a nonprofit organization started by two Massachusetts teenagers to help buy pre-paid calling cards for those serving overseas. Donate any model or make of cell phone and its batteries and accessories. The phones are recycled for money to purchase cards or unlimited free video phone calls.
