Live and silent auctions for Project Va will be Friday night at Allen Creek Community Church.
The project is a partnership between the church and one in Brazil. The project team is hoping to assist with efforts such as constructing a new school building and English instruction.
The team will perform an original musical drama written specifically to offer the message of hope for Brazilians seeking spiritual healing.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for viewing items. The silent auction begins at 7, followed by the live auction at 7:30.

Volunteer as a crime victim advocate
Are you compassionate? Are you dedicated? Do you believe in justice for victims of crime?
If so, Families and Friends of Violent Crime Victims needs volunteers like you.
Families and Friends will begin a 40-hour victim advocate training class June 4. Victim advocates provide support, crisis intervention, courtroom support and referrals to victims, families and friends of violent crimes including homicide, assault, robbery and adult missing persons where foul play is suspected.

Marysville wants to see your talents
Auditions for the 2005 Marysville Strawberry Festival talent show will be 5:30-7:30 p.m. May 2 and 3 at Marysville-Pilchuck High School.
The main categories are vocal, dance, instrumental, drama and comedy. All ages, both solo and groups, are eligible. The talent show will be 6 p.m. June 16.

Day of Caring asks students for their ideas
United Way invites Snohomish County high school students to participate in a Day of Caring design contest.
Winning artwork will be featured on 1,500 T-shirts and in publicity materials to promote the annual event, which brings together more than 1,000 volunteers. Each fall, volunteers paint, landscape, build playgrounds, read to children and help seniors with home projects.
The winning artist earns a $100 gift certificate for art supplies and free T-shirts. Entries will be judged at the Spirit of Snohomish County Breakfast in June.
