Get free tax help starting today at three locations
United Way offers free tax preparation services starting today in Everett and Lynnwood.
A center is open from 3 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Fridays through April 15 at South Everett Foursquare Church, 206 E. Casino Road, Everett.
Centers also are open from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays through April 14 at Cedar Valley Community School, 19200 56th Ave. W., Lynnwood, and at North Middle School, 2514 Rainier Ave., Everett.
Trained and certified volunteers are set to be on hand to complete basic income tax returns, to help people claim deductions and tax credits, and to help with electronic filings, which speeds refunds.

Donate blood at Everett Community College
The Everett Community College student activities health and wellness program will host a blood drive for the Puget Sound Blood Center from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. today at Everett Community College, Jackson Center, 2000 Tower St., Everett.

Learn how to get money for college on Saturday
Everett Community College will host College Goal Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday in Shuksan Hall, 2000 Tower St., Everett.
The event is free.
Volunteers from Everett Community College and other professionals plan to help students and their families complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA form, which is the first step toward obtaining money for college from the government.
Prior registration is not required, but an online sign-up is offered to guarantee a time slot at www.collegegoalsundaywa.org.

South County Senior Center offers a hot, nutritionally balanced lunch at noon Mondays through Fridays at 220 Railroad Ave., Edmonds.
Tickets must be purchased after 11 a.m. the day of the meal. The suggested donation is $2.50 for people ages 60 and up and $5.15 for all others.
