Free class gives tips on digital photography
The Mountlake Terrace Library plays host to a free digital photography class at 7 p.m. Friday, Monday and Jan. 26 at 23300 58th Ave. W., Mountlake Terrace.

North Cascades Crew offers a Learn to Row, Try Rowing event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the boat launch at North Cove Park on 17th Place NE, Lake Stevens.

Emergency planning class set in Mukilteo
The Mukilteo Library plays host to a free Family Emergency Response Program training session from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at 4675 Harbour Pointe Blvd., Mukilteo.
Through the program, members receive a card that advises emergency personnel to call a toll-free number where they can obtain information from the cardholder’s file, including who to call in the event of an emergency.

Volunteers needed for shoreline work Sunday
People for Puget Sound seeks volunteers for two work parties along Snohomish County shorelines.
A work party hosted by the Port of Everett is set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at the Union Slough wetlands restoration site in Everett.
A second work party is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 31 at Picnic Point County Park, Mukilteo. The Snohomish County Parks and Recreation Department and the Snohomish Marine Resources Committee are sponsoring the Mukilteo event.
At both sites, volunteers can help plant native trees and shrubs that will provide habitat and food for birds and salmon. Call 206-382-7007.
Conservation district seeks board volunteers
The Snohomish Conservation District seeks two volunteers to serve three-year terms on its board of supervisors. One position is elected, one is appointed.
All registered voters who own or occupy land within the district, which includes Camano Island, are eligible to vote and run for office.
An election is scheduled for 2 to 6 p.m. March 17 at the district office, 528 91st Ave. NE, Suite A, Lake Stevens.

Everett cancer center seeks volunteers
The Cancer Resource Center at the Providence Regional Cancer Partnership seeks volunteers to assist people who are undergoing cancer treatment. Volunteers typically work one four-hour shift per week. Times are flexible. Training is provided.

EvCC and AARP offer free tax preparation
The Accounting Department at Everett Community College and the American Association of Retired People will offer free tax preparation clinics from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays, Jan. 29 to April 14 at EvCC’s Rainier Hall, Room 104, 2000 Tower St., Everett.
The tax clinics are for people who have low or middle incomes and those age 60 and older. Tax forms will be provided.
