Community Transit alters bus service

Community Transit will start new bus routes in Silver Firs, Mill Creek, Monroe, Marysville and Lake Stevens as part of its semiannual service change Sunday.

The new bus service also means that DART paratransit will serve an additional 132 people with disabilities.

Here’s a summary of the new routes:

  • New Route 102 connects Silver Firs, 132nd Street SE, McCollum Park and the Mariner Park &Ride.

  • New Route 114 links Silver Firs to Mill Creek, 164th Street SE, Alderwood Mall, the Lynnwood Park &Ride and Edmonds. It also serves 196th Street SW and Highway 99 in Lynnwood.

  • Revised Route 240 replaces Route 220 in Arlington. It connects Stanwood, Warm Beach, Lakewood, Smokey Point and Arlington.

  • New Route 270 connects Gold Bar, Monroe, Snohomish and Everett with a faster trip and replaces Route 720.

  • New Route 275 provides service to downtown Monroe, Fryelands and businesses north of U.S. 2, as well as connecting to Snohomish and Everett.

  • New Route 271 operates on nights and weekends, providing hourly connections between all the communities served in east Snohomish County and Everett.

  • Route 727 will be replaced by Route 277 for those traveling to the Boeing plant in Everett. This route also will provide early-morning service to Everett Station.

  • New Route 221 links Quil Ceda Village on the Tulalip Reservation with State Avenue in Marysville, Fourth Street, downtown Lake Stevens and Frontier Village

  • Revised Route 222 serves the Tulalip Reservation and Quil Ceda Village, and then extends into north and east Marysville. The specially painted "orca run" bus unveiled this summer operates on the route.

  • Route 421 from Marysville to downtown Seattle adds three round trips a day from the newly expanded Marysville Ash Avenue Park &Ride.

  • Route 177 links Mukilteo with the Everett Boeing plant. A similar route was canceled by Everett Transit this summer. CT continued the service at the request of Boeing officials.
