Computer, golf clubs stolen from vehicle

ARLINGTON – An expensive computer and a pricey set of golf clubs were stolen early Friday from a vehicle in the parking lot of the Hawthorne Hotel, in the 16800 block of Smokey Point Blvd.

At least one suspect went into the hotel lobby, and security cameras recorded the image of the man, Arlington police said.

Last fall, the same neighborhood and business area was hit repeatedly by thieves breaking into vehicles, with losses in the thousands of dollars. Since then, police and hotel employees have cooperatively increased security and taken other precautions, police said.

The suspect in Friday’s incident left in a late 1980s to early ’90s red two-door Buick Rivera. Anyone with information about the theft is asked to contact the Arlington Police Department’s crime tip line at 360-403-3420, or call the police station during business hours at 360-403-3400.
