CONNELL — A financial supervisor at the Coyote Ridge Corrections Center is accused of violating state ethics law by selling a nutritional supplement to co-workers at the Connell prison during work hours.
A whistleblower report by the state auditor’s office found reasonable cause to believe an improper action occurred.
The Tri-City Herald reported that the Department of Corrections is deciding what discipline to take against Patricia Barrera, who remains on the job.
The report says Barrera told investigators she quit selling the supplement at work after a supervisor told her to stop.
