A parade of civic leaders from throughout Snohomish County is lining up behind Dave Earling in his bid to unseat Edmonds Mayor Mike Cooper.

Earling has snagged the backing of former Edmonds Mayor Gary Haakenson, who departed last year to work for Snohomish County Executive Aaron Reardon. Evan Smith of The Weekly Herald has details of the endorsement here.

Earling has also garnered the support of former Snohomish County Executive Bob Drewel and the mayors of Everett (Ray Stephanson), Marysville (Jon Nehring), Mukilteo (Joe Marine), Mountlake Terrace (Jerry Smith), Bothell (Mark Lamb) and Woodway (Carla Nichols).

Cooper, appointed to the position following Haakenson’s departure in 2010, is gathering endorsements from some notable political names as well.

Among those announced on his Facebook page are U.S. Reps. Jay Inslee, D-Wash. and Rick Larsen, D-Wash., state Rep. Marko Liias, D-Edmonds, state Sen. Maralyn Chase, D-Edmonds, Brier Mayor Bob Colinas and former Edmonds Councilwoman Deanna Dawson.
