COSMOPOLIS — The Cosmopolis City Council voted Wednesday to oppose the Wild Olympics campaign.
KXRO reports Cosmopolis joins Grays Harbor County commissioners and the Aberdeen City Council in opposition.
The proposal in Congress would designate about 200 square miles of Forest Service land as wilderness where no logging would be allowed. The plan also would designate 23 river systems as wild and scenic.
Supporters say the Wild Olympics proposal would save wilderness. Opponents worry it would restrict too much logging and recreation.
