RICHLAND — Workers arriving at a home under construction in Richland Friday morning found a 6-foot long cougar in the basement.
Police and an officer from the state Fish and Wildlife Department responded and decided to kill the cougar.
Because of the location, the number of people in the area and other safety concerns they said there was no other option but to shoot the animal.
