SNOHOMISH — A push to change the leadership of Snohomish city government is entering the final days of the election count with a narrow lead.
Proposition 2 seeks to replace the current council-manager form of government with a council-mayor form.
As of Wednesday evening, the measure was passing by 10 votes, said Garth Fell, elections and recording manager with the Snohomish County Auditor’s Office. There still are about 20 ballots left to count.
The Snohomish County Auditor’s Office expects to release the final results Monday evening. On Tuesday, the election results are scheduled to be certified.
The Snohomish City Council has scheduled a special meeting for Dec. 5. Among the agenda items are discussions about a special election and compensation package for a new mayor, as well as establishing a city administrator position.
