Everett Councilman Ron Gipson says he plans to run for a fifth four-year term on the City Council.
Gipson, a corrections officer, has served longer than any other member currently sitting on the council.
“We have a lot of work to do and I like being part of it,” Gipson said.
He listed off the city’s multi-million dollar Riverfront redevelopment and the new municipal court building as projects he’d like to continue to have a hand in.
He also plans to keep an eye on issues that impact kids, particularly making sure the city continues to pay for police resource officers at area middle schools.
“I see kids suffer and see the good things too,” he said. “I want to be a part of kids’ safety.”
Council members set policy direction, approve most major contracts and pass city ordinances.
