EVERETT — Snohomish County added $637 million in new construction value this year, down from a high of more than $2.1 billion in 2008, according to assessment notices the Assessor’s Office mailed Monday.
The 5,900 new assessment notices will be used for calculating property taxes due in 2012. In addition to new construction, the mailings include changes to property values because of new plats or boundary-line adjustments. They also include value changes since initial notices were sent earlier this year.
New construction values are set on July 31 of each year, versus Jan. 1 for other property.
Anybody with questions about the notices is asked to call the Assessor’s Office at 425-388-3433. The office also has updated its website at http://assessor.snoco.org.
