The Snohomish County chapter of the American Red Cross seeks disaster relief volunteers for immediate assignment to areas of the Midwest recently hit by devastating storms.
Volunteers most likely would be dispatched to Red Cross emergency shelters in Indiana, Iowa and Nebraska, where tornadoes have left hundreds homeless. Others would go to flooded areas of West Virginia.
Red Cross disaster relief volunteers have received specialized training in emergency shelter management, staffing or one of many other disaster relief disciplines. They are normally on assignment for three weeks.
