COUPEVILLE — Longer wait times could be in store for Washington State Ferries riders at the Edmonds and Mukilteo terminals while the Coupeville-to-Port Townsend route is closed Nov. 5 and 6 for terminal construction.
The Coupeville terminal’s single slip will be updated to better withstand earthquakes. Work is expected to start after the last sailing Friday and continue until after the last sailing of the day Sunday.
The route links Whidbey Island to the Olympic Peninsula, a one-hour ferry ride that shortens what would be a 4.5-hour drive.
